Biography
Wei Ren completed his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China in 2023, where his research primarily focused on the linear motor for magnetic levitation (Maglev) trains, specifically utilizing high-temperature superconducting (HTS) tapes. During his studies, he made contributions including the proposal and development of a novel, joint-free design with exceptionally low resistance, eliminating the need for solder.
Currently, Wei Ren is pursuing a Ph.D. at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. As a researcher at the Institute for Technical Physics (ITEP), he is dedicated to the design and testing of HTS coils used in particle accelerators. His work continues to push the boundaries of superconductivity applications in cutting-edge technologies.
