Research Field Superconducting and Cryomaterials
In the research field of superconducting and cryomaterials at ITEP, classical as well as newly designed low- and high-temperature superconductors as well as new superconducting and cryomaterials are investigated and developed with respect to their potential for power and magnetic applications. The objectives include understanding the current-carrying properties of superconductors, characterizing the mechanical and functional properties at cryogenic temperatures, and developing high-current carrying wire and cable architectures as well as their manufacturing technologies.
