LNG2HyDE

Project objective

The aim of the joint project is to develop a scientifically sound, sustainable database and recommendation as a decision-making basis for the future-proof and long-term use of LNG terminal locations as logistical hubs for hydrogen and its derivatives (H2 transport vectors). It is also important to identify further research and development needs.

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology sub-project (large-scale research task) looks at the liquid hydrogen (LH2) transport vector and contributes to the technological inventory of LNG terminals, the development of a concept for an import terminal for LH2, component evaluation, onward LH2 transport within Germany and further use scenarios.
