Manufacturing process of the HTS CroCo
The process for manufacturing the HTS CroCo is designed for long lengths as well as industrial production and was distinguished by the EU in 2016. During production, up to 60 HTS-tapes of two different widths are stacked and soldered along their full length in a continuous manufacturing step. In cross-section, this creates the cross shape that gives it its name. The conductor can then still be twisted to improve the magnetic properties and packed in a copper tube or profile in a separate step.
