The sun generates its energy from nuclear fusion processes taking place inside. The goal of worldwide fusion research is the technical realization of nuclear fusion similar to the sun, so their energy production can be used on earth.

The energy of the sun reaches the earth in form of radiation energy. If the radiation balance of our atmosphere is in imbalance, the temperature on our planet changes. Anthropogenic greenhouse gases warm up the climate.

A climate-neutral variant of energy production is the conversion of solar energy into electrical energy with solar cells.
