Trip to famous Heidelberg castle

(by bus from conference venue)

The Heidelberg castle is only a short trip by bus from the conference Hotel.
You will have a guided tour through the castle including the visit
of the big wine barrel. The castle terrace provides you a magnificient
view to the old town area and to the Philosopher walk across the Neckar river.
You will have some time for a stroll through the castle parcs.

Wine tasting event at Zehntkeller Schriesheim

(by bus from Heidelberg castle, back travel to conference venue)

We visit about 10 km north of Heidelberg a wine village called Schriesheim.
The village is located at the boarder of the Rhine valley at the foot of the Odenwald
mountains. The vineyards have ideal conditions at the slope of the mountains
and face to south-west, capturing a lot of sun. The location is called “Badische
Bergstrasse” and is part of the “Baden wine” area. The wine tasting event takes place
in the former cave of the wine growers union (Winzergenossenschaft) which is
located in the heart of the old village centre. Quite recently the wine growers
became a prize for their high overall quality level of their cellar. You have
the opportunity to taste 8 kind of wine specialities coming from the hill side
behind the village accompanied by finger-food.
