Around 25,000 visitors joined us in celebrating the Open Day at the North Campus of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology on June 17, 2023.
In bright sunshine, science enthusiasts of all ages flocked to the site starting at 10:00 a.m. to experience exciting hands-on experiments and catch a glimpse behind the scenes of laboratories and research facilities.
One of the more than 200 offerings came from the Real Time System for Energy Technologies research group, which opened the Power Hardware-in-the-Loop facility at Energy Lab 2.0 to the public in celebration of the day.

Visitors were able to experience the large power amplifiers as well as the energy technologies under investigation. For instance, the grid-stabilizing function of flywheel energy storage systems and the construction of the new hydrogen storage power plant H2-in-the-loop sparked great interest.
We are already looking forward to the next time when KIT opens its doors again.
